They come and have the quality classifications I.G.T. Costa Toscana (Tuscan coast) and d.o.c. TERRE DI PISA. The “Costa Toscana IGT” (Typical Geographical Indication of the Tuscan Coast) is the result of the need of producers of the Tuscan Coast (the part if Tuscany influenced by the Tyrrhenian sea)- to diversify and characterize their wine production with respect to that of the IGT Toscana which already existed. In 2011 the DOC Terre Di Pisa was established, which aims to represent the highest quality Pisan wine in the municipalities of Fauglia, Crespina, Lari, Chianni, Capannoni, Palaia, Peccioli, Terricciola, Casciana Terme, Ponsacco, Pontedera, Montopoli V.A., San Miniato, Orciano Pisano, Lorenzana and Santa Luce.
For many years Tenuta di Ghizzano has been in the forefront of promoting its area, and has always believed that it is essential and responsible, to cooperate with other producers and institutions to create constructive and aware growth. Our main partners are: Associazione Grandi Cru della costa Toscana (Association of Grand Cru producers of the Tuscan coast), Federazione Italiana Vignaioli Indipendenti (Federation of Independent Italian Wine Producers) and Terre di Pisa.
